Michael A. McAran, 46, of Sandusky, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 suddenly at his summer cottage near Hudson, Michigan.
Michael was born on January 26, 1968 in Tiffin, OH to Dennis and Barbara (Blue) McAran.
Michael was a 1986 graduate of Norwalk St. Paul High School. He then attended The University of Toledo and Miami University. Michael was self employed, and was the owner and operator of The Crowbar in downtown Sandusky. He was a very organized individual who possessed exceptional interpersonal skills. He loved his job, and the company of those whom he worked with. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, landscaping, cars, water sports, re-modeling and interior decorating. Michael was very generous, hard working and had a special love for all animals, especially his two rescued dogs.
Including his parents, Michael is survived by his husband, Michael C. Shullick, whom he married on July 25, 2011 in Niagra Falls, New York and many aunts, uncles and other relatives.
At the family's request, private memorial services will be held in Michael's memory. A public memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 5:00 pm at The Crowbar at 206 W. Market St., Sandusky, OH. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory are assisting the family with arrangements.
