Anna C. Pollard 69, of Sandusky, died Monday, September 1, 2014, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born on June 16, 1945 in Garrison, KY, to the late William Ernest and Virginia Mae (Mullins) Cotton.
Anna retired from the Ohio Veterans Home, and worked with hospice in home health care for the last 25 years.
She was an avid drag racing fan, loved to use the telephone, shop, read, and spend time with her family.
Anna is survived by her children, Debra Jo (Victor) Wheeler, Richard Lee Pollard, Susie Mae Porter, Allen Eugene (Rebecca) Pollard, and Billy (Rosechelle "Shellie") Pollard all of Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Kelly Marie Pollard; grandson whom she raised, Joseph Pollard; seventeen grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; sisters, Roxanne Cotton, Sandusky, and Roealice Jewett, North Carolina; brothers, James Cotton, Florida, Peter Giles, Columbus, OH, and James Giles, Pittsburgh, PA; special friend, Chuck McCoy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Pollard in 2004; parents; two great-granddaughters, Angel and Za'Nyhia; son-in-law, James Porter; brother, Robert Cotton; grandson, Kenny Swain; and a niece, Stephanie McCarty.
Friends may call on Thursday, September 4, 2014, from 4-8 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 A.M. in Faith Memorial Church, 1320 E. Strub Rd., Sandusky. Rev. Dorothy Kent will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
