Vera Fligor, age 90, of Norwalk, passed away Monday, September 08, 2014 at Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born July 1, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Samuel and Mae (Dart) Hoffman.
She graduated from Perrysburg High School and was a proud mother and homemaker for over 70 years. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and volunteered to bake for the church festival, enjoyed cooking, making soups and desserts. She was an avid swimmer and reader, and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren at the Cottage at Clark Lake in Michigan. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary 711 and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl L. (Dave) Kelley of Norwalk, Christina A. (Dale) Birie of Toledo, Deborah M. (Greg) Might of Norwalk and Cynthia L. (Dave) Regler of Marion; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Arnie Hoffman; and four nephews, including a special nephew, Johnny (Judy) Puska.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Lawrence B. Fligor Sr. in 2013; son, Lawrence B. Fligor Jr. in 2006; a brother, Bog Hoffman; and a sister, Opal Hopfer.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
