Audrey Allene Ludington, 85, of North Monroeville, went to be with the Lord and her family Tuesday morning, September 9, 2014 in the Twilight Gardens Nursing Home, Norwalk following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 29, 1929 in Rio Grande, Ohio and was a 1947 graduate of Monroeville High School.
Allene owned and operated the former Farm Restaurant, Monroeville and had also worked at the Milan Inn.
She was a member of the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, Monroeville and the Bellevue Eagles Auxiliary, where she was a past president. Allene enjoyed gardening, canning and her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by one son, Todd Ludington of Norwalk; one daughter, Carol (Pat) Schaffer of Norwalk; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Forrest "Bud" (Clarice) Stewart of Ashland, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl P. Ludington in 2006; parents, Ben and Edith (Lamblin) Stewart; siblings, Fayebelle Stewart, Virginia Pierce, Flo Portner, Donna Stewart, Lois Stewart, Eugene Stewart, Louis Stewart, Dennis Stewart, Vivian Downing and Thelma Stewart.
Friends may call Monday, September 15, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 16, 2014. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
