Earl T. "Tom" Rogers II, 84, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 in Providence Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born February 24, 1930 in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Earl T. and Mildred (O'Day) Rogers.
Tom was raised in Sandusky, Ohio, and had lived in Norwalk, Ohio for 43 years. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Norwalk, Ohio. Tom was a former employee of Rogers Foods, a family owned business, Gundlach Meats, and Distel Meats of Sandusky, Ohio, Gordon Goods of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Maple City Ice Company of Norwalk, Ohio.
He was a member of Musicians Union Local #15-286 of Northwest, Ohio, was a long time member of the Huron Yacht Club, and was currently a member of the Sandusky Yacht Club. Tom enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and was a Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Browns sports fan. He also enjoyed playing the drums, and was a member of several area Jazz Trio's, including the Blue Notes, the Play Boys, and the Joe Windau Trio.
Tom is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Kathryn (Kerner) (Schild) Rogers of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, Earl T. Rogers III of San Francisco, California, Ann G. (Carl) McGookey of Sandusky, Ohio, Hap (Monica) Rogers of Sandusky, Ohio, Dennis (Karen) Schild of Norwalk, Ohio, and Mary Beth Farmer of Norwalk, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bryan (Katie) McGookey, Rev. Eric Schild, Brandon Schild, Ryan Schild, Katie Farmer, and Steven Farmer.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Eric Schild will officiate.
