Ilene DeFriece (Steinbauer), 74, of Clyde, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at her home.
She was born June 20, 1936 in Hamtramck, Michigan the daughter of the late Art and Helen (Witkowski) Blavatt. Ilene was employed as a school teacher and devoted 45 years to the profession. She taught at numerous schools but retired from the Margaretta School District. She also enjoyed music.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Jacqueline) DeFriece of Vickery; 2 grandchildren, Paisley and Reagan DeFriece; and sister Marlene (Richard) Novak, of Roseville, MI. Also two step-daughters, Christine (Thomas) Kramer, Maumee and Joanne (Dennis) Wasserman, Clyde and numerous step grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Glenford DeFriece in 1996, and second husband, Carl Steinbauer in 2008.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 11 a.m. until services begin at 1 p.m. at Foos-Klein Funeral Home, 318 South Main Street, Clyde, Ohio 43410. Burial will follow in McPherson Cemetery.
