Karen M. (Kraus) Pilkenton, 62, of Sandusky died early Wednesday morning, September 24, 2014 in the Admiral's Pointe Nursing Home, Huron following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 15, 1952 in Sandusky and was a 1970 graduate of Sandusky High School.
She also had attended the Ohio University in Athens. Karen was a member of the Amvets Post 17 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 83 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her father, Andrew C. Kraus, Sandusky; one brother, Andrew D. (Deborah) Kraus of Sandusky; two nieces, Erika (Kyle) Roth of South Euclid, and Brittany Kraus of Chicago, Illinois; one great nephew, Kade Roth and one great niece, Liv Roth, both of South Euclid, several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Donnie" Pilkenton in 2001; her mother, Ellen (Brandstrup) Kraus and her grandparents.
At the request of the deceased, cremation has taken place.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 2-4:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Graveside services for the family will be held in Oakland Cemetery.
