Dennis E. Pocock, 58, of Sandusky, after beating AML and being cancer-free, changed his residency to, "Living in Heaven," after several complications from transplant surgery. He passed away on Wednesday evening, September 24, 2014 in his home.
He was born on April 20, 1956 in Bellevue. He worked for GM for 30 years, retiring in 2008, and for H&R Block for 25 years as an enrolled agent.
Dennis, affectionately known as "Pops" by his family, loved Cleveland sports and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved his family trips to Browns and Cavs games. He especially loved traveling with his son, Josh, to Lambeau field and traveling to New York with his wife, Donna. He also loved going to the shooting range with his friends and son, working on his house and cars, and racing - mostly on dirt tracks. You could also find Dennis on his boat, fishing for Lake Erie perch. Through this last year, Dennis missed being away from his daughter, Sonceray, and he was glad to be back at home with her in his final days.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 34 years, Donna (Robinson) Pocock; children, Sonceray Pocock and Josh (Tina) Pocock; grandchildren, Mykah and Malachi; sister and brother-in-law, Valerie (Pocock) and Charles Oakley; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brad E. Pocock, in 2013; father, Harold Pocock; mother, Lovetta (Wing) Ervin; step-father, Ona Ervin; and step-daughter, Michelle Myrice.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, October 1 at the funeral home. Rev. Danny Akers will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
