Carl G. Ekx, 71, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born May 17, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Carl and Evelyn (Greiwe) Ekx, and came to this area in 1991 from Chicago.
He was a self-employed design engineer, and had also worked for Monode Marketing of Cleveland, Ohio. Carl was a member of the Firelands Society of Model Railroads. He was a former sprint car driver, and enjoyed reading, boating, fishing, mechanic work and restoring cars, and collecting railroad memorabilia.
Carl is survived by his wife, Pamela J. (Allen) Derby of Norwalk, Ohio, by his son, Carl G. Ekx, Jr. of McHenry, Illinois, by his daughter, Lorna (Joseph) Liposky of Naperville, Illinois, by 4 grandchildren, and one great grandson. He is also survived by his sisters, Karen Ekx of Des Plaines, Illinois, and Pat (Arthur) Zickman of Coatesville, Indiana, by his step son, Kenneth Derby of Norwalk, Ohio, by his step daughter, Megan Derby of Norwalk, Ohio, and by 3 step grandchildren, including Ethan Marsillett.
Friends may call on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio.
