Mary A. (Gonzales) Nolf, 75, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday evening, October 21, 2014 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mary was born on April 9, 1939 in Mercedes, TX to the late Jose and Lydia (Sanchez) Gonzales.
Mary was a 1958 graduate from St. Mary's Catholic High School. She was employed at various offices in the Sandusky area, before retiring after 13 years from Cedar Point as an information operator. Mary was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, the American Legion, Amvets and the Northern Ohio Wine Guild. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, especially her annual Thanksgiving meal for the homeless, baking, crocheting, traveling and volunteering for the luncheon committee at Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her husband, Robert J. Nolf. She is also survived by her daughter, Deb Capozzi of Sandusky; granddaughters, Rachel and Shaye Whittaker; step-daughters, Christy (Bill) Joyce of Norwalk, Vicki (Michael) Laney of Rome, GA and Kim (Dave) Heyl of Berlin Heights; 9 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; best friendof 50 years, Joea (Neil) Enoch of Sandusky; her faithful dog, Dusty and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her first husband, John N. Capozzi; sister, Delores Lee and brother, Jose Gonzales.
Friends may call on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 9:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, OH.
