Murlin Kenneth Koch, a proud son of Ohio and a thankful American Patriot died at The Bellevue Hospital in the early hours of October 22, 2014.
Murlin was born on December 6, 1919 to William and Nellie (Poths) Koch.
He married Adelyne Juliano on April 12, 1947 and remained married for 59 years until her death in May of 2006.
Murlin was a Veteran of World War II having served 3 years overseas in the 730th Railroad Battalion in Iran. He traveled around the world by train, boat and air. He returned to the community he loved following the war. He was a member of The National Association of Retired Veteran Railroad Employees (NARVRE), The Four County Young At Heart, life member of The V.F.W. and American Legion, The Club Amer-Ital and St. John's Lutheran Church all in Bellevue. He was an avid sportsman, who once had a hole in one and bowled a perfect 300 game on his 80th birthday. He was a loyal fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Browns. He retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad after 40 years of service.
Murlin is survived by his children; Marvin (Mary) Koch, Findlay, OH; Vicky (Stanley) Richards, Oliver Springs, TN; Anne (Jim) Burke, Corona, CA; William (Scherl) Koch, Bellevue, OH; Kenneth (Amy) Koch, Sandusky, OH; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, his sister Ethel Slane, Willard, OH and a special friend of the family Connie Freeman, Mentor, OH.
Another very important part of his life was his loving and devoted companion of seven years, Emma K. Wagner, along with her children and grandchildren, whom he loved very deeply as his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Nellie Koch, his wife Adelyne, brothers, Wilbert and Earl Koch and granddaughter Donna Sue Koch.
Murlin was a good shepherd and lived his life in service to others. We can all be inspired by the quality of the life he lived, and values by which he lived for nearly 95 years. He will be deeply missed by a loving and grateful family.
