Henry J. Corso, 88, Sandusky, died Monday, March 14, 2011, in the Ohio Veterans Home.
He was born on May 18, 1922, in Sandusky, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Henry was employed by Ford Motor Company for 26 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the V.F.W. Post 2529, Sandusky, Amvets Post 17, Sandusky, and the former I.A.B.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary (Profeta) Corso; daughter, Janet (Jerry) Scheider, Cedar Park, TX; sons, Ken (Kathy) Corso, Milan, OH, and Paul (Ady) Corso, Paso Robles, CA, grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Anna, Abbie, Vanessa, Kevin, and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Mia and Harper; brother, Joseph Corso, Sandusky; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Ida (Caldrone) Corso; sister, Margaret Gruber; and brother, August "Stiny" Corso.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, March 18, 2011, at 10 A.M. in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Marty Nassr will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, with the American Legion Post 83 Honor Guard performing military honors.
