Richard N. Striker

Richard N. Striker, 79, of Norwalk, passed away October 30, 2014, at his residence.

He was born December 3, 1924 in Dennison, Ohio to the late Charles and Margaret (Whalen) Striker.

Richard moved to Norwalk, Ohio in 1956 and worked for Wilson and Burras Construction. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. When he got out of the Army in 1959, he went to work for Bob Janotta, and then went to the Norwalk Police Department in 1962, and transferred to the Norwalk Fire Department in 1970, where he retired in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Dottie Striker of Norwalk, Ohio, by his sons, Dewey (Cindy) Varney of Norwalk, Ohio and Douglas (Brenda) Striker of Norwalk, Ohio, by his daughter, Lelah (Jim) Weidinger of Norwalk, Ohio, by his step sons, Louis Frazier of Lodi, Ohio, William (Shirley) Frazier of South Carolina, and Kristof Frazier of Harvey, Louisiana, and by his daughter in law, Cristina Adcock of Norwalk, Ohio. Richard is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and by many nieces and nephews, including Bernice, and David Taylor of Ashland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jean (Taylor) Striker, by his second wife, Carrie C. Taylor Frazier Striker, by his son, Richard Allen Striker, and step son, Michael Frazier, by his brothers, Charles, David, James, and Blaine Striker, and by his sisters, Margaret Parish, Anna Marie Bonifant, and Shirley Jean Striker.

Friends may call on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Rev. James McClain will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
