Elizabeth "Bettie" Houle age 92 of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014 at the Willows at Bellevue.
She was born June 13, 1922 in Bellevue the daughter of the late Anna Thomas.
Bettie was a homemaker. She was a 1936 graduate of Immaculate Conception School, where she spent some of the happiest days of her life, and a 1940 graduate of Bellevue High School.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, charter member of the former Daughters of Isabella, Altar Rosary Society, Immaculate Conception Church funeral dinner committee, St. Francis Guild, Green Springs; Bellevue Garden Club and life member of Bellevue Society for the Arts. Bettie volunteered at Bellevue Fish and Loaves, Bellevue Hospital Gift Shop, Red Cross Bloodmobile and was a Girl Scout Brownie Leader. She enjoyed playing cards, doing crafts and traveling.
Survivors include her son, William C. (Debbie) Houle of Clyde; daughter, Pamela "Pam" (Bruce) Wagner of Middleburg Heights, OH; five grandchildren Jacquie (Chris) Wells, Wendy (Len) Eisenloeffel, Amy (Todd) DeWitt, Erik (Jen) Wagner, and Heather (Danny) Overman; eleven great-grandchildren, Brody, Erin, Max, Mikaela, Brandon, Caroline, Gavin, Morgan, Dylan, Mitchell and Madison.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband William B. Houle whom she married Aug. 7, 1943 in Louisville, KY.
Friends will be received Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH where a Christian Wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue, OH. Burial will follow in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
