Dennis V. Edwards, 75, Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord, on his birthday, Thursday, March 10, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on March 10, 1936, in Port Clinton, OH, to Melvin and Ella Mae (Jensen) Edwards. Denny served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was always proud to be a Marine. He was employed by and retired from Sandusky Foundry and Machine. He loved the Lord and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he attended regularly and enjoyed the "Prime-Timers Fun Day" at the church. Denny also loved going to the coin shop and hanging out with the guys.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Teryl) Edwards; adopted son, David Edwards; grandchildren, Anthony (Lisa) Edwards, Sarah Edwards, Mikaela Edwards, David Edwards Jr., Dennis Edwards, and Timothy Edwards; brothers, Gary Edwards and Thomas Edwards; a great-grandson; sister, Yvonne Edwards Morehart, former wives, Beulah Alley and Janet Scheiderer; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy (Lawrence) Edwards; son, Jeffery Edwards; and a sister, Carrie Edwards Groden.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 21, 2011, at 11 A.M. in Calvary Baptist Church, 1810 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Rev. David Hixson will officiate. The Marine Corps Honor Guard will perform military honors following the service.
