Janice Fay (Gill) Skaggs, 81, residing in Clyde, passed away early Sunday morning, November 2, 2014 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 11, 1933 in Winona, WV to the late Clarence and Hattie (Holcomb) Gill.
Janice attended Nutall High School. She was the day care and financial director at Christian Wee Care for several years. Janice was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Bellevue, Ohio and was a tremendous supporter of missionary work. In her spare time, she enjoyed working with children, reading, and spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren whom she was very passionate about.
Janice is survived by her four daughters, Ronette (Randy) Skaggs, of Sandusky, Patti (Randy) Appeman of Berlin Heights, Karen (William) Nims of Clyde and Carrie Gill of Toledo; two sons, Reginald Thomas (Sue) Skaggs Jr. of Harrison and Ron Gill of Toledo; 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Guessford and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her loving husband Reginald "Buck" Skaggs Sr. in 1997; sisters, Glenna Neal and Laura Barton; brothers, Ronald, Roy, Junior and Earl Gill.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 5 2014 from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky with Rev. Kenneth Hiser presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
