Carl Klueg Jr., 78, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Carl was born on October 5, 1936 in Sandusky, OH to the late Carl Sr. and Helen (Strickfaden) Klueg.
Carl was a 1954 graduate of St. Mary's High School and graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA in 1958. He proudly served his country as a Veteran of the US Army. Carl worked at Klueg Pharmacy which opened in 1930. He joined his father in the business in 1960 and retired in 2004. Carl was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and served on the church council and the Elks Lodge #285 and served as a trustee. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, especially playing in the Elks League for over 40 years, and spending time with his family.
Carl is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Daniel) White of Sandusky; son, Steven (Tabitha) Klueg of Mooresville, NC; six grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Richard) Parshall of Findlay, OH; brother, Eugene (Mary) Klueg of Absecon, NJ; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by wife, Martha (Palmer) Klueg on July 13, 1995.
Friends may call on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. A prayer service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky with Fr. Matthew Frisbee presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
