Lois M. Myers

Lois M. Myers, 90, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 6, 2014 in her home.

She was born August 24, 1924 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Elmer and Viola (Roth) Beverick and lived in this area most of her life.

Lois was an active member of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church for 54 years, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, several Circles, Committee's, and often helped with the annual rummage sale. As a teen, she worked at Otto's Dairy (Toft's Ice Cream), Sandusky, Ohio, Firestone, Sandusky, Ohio, and was the mail girl at the Army Depot (NASA), Sandusky, Ohio, during WWII. Lois retired from the J.C. Penny Store in Norwalk, Ohio in 1984. She was a member of the Senior Enrichment Center, where she enjoyed playing cards and day trips, and was a volunteer for the Huron County C.A.C., and was a former Cub Scout den mother.

Lois also enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles, bowling, and playing solitaire on her computer. As a teen, she enjoyed square dancing at the 7 mile house on St. Rt. 4.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Myers, Sr. whom she met at the Sandusky Skating Rink on Venice Road. Lois married Ed April 21, 1946, in the Salem Evangelical Church. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Lois is survived by her son, Edward J. (Joyce) Myers, Jr. of Norwalk, Ohio, by her grandchildren, Marlie (Myers) Tanzillo, Scott Myers, Cristi (Myers) McFadden, John Myers, Jr., and Munro "Nick" Myers, by her great grandchildren, Zachary, Wessley, Taylor and Ethan Tanzillo, Max Myers, Nila Myers, Cavan and Malia McFadden, Jacob Myers, Preston Myers, and Bryleigh Myers. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Donna Myers of Huron, Ohio, by her sister, Jean (Mel) Rohrbacher of Sandusky, Ohio, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews including Marty (Martha) Beverick of Marblehead, Ohio, and by a family friend, Dan Beck of Huron, Ohio.

She was also preceded in death by her son, John C. Myers in 2011, by her brother, Wayne Beverick, and sisters, Mary Jensen and Esther Bean.

Friends may call Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Brian Oglesbee, Pastor of Norwalk First United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Meadowgreen Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio.
