Vincent J. Trautman, 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in the Ohio Veterans Home.
He was born on May 12, 1924 in Sandusky to the late Howard and Verna (Francis) Trautman.
Vincent was a Navy veteran, serving in WWII. He was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed playing games with friends, country music, and having a good time.
Vincent is survived by his daughters, Shanda Trautman, Dorinda Trautman, and Heidi Trautman, all of Sandusky; grandsons, Eric (Heather) Simpson, of Texas, and Adam (Sarah) White, of Sandusky; granddaughter, Lydia Trautman, of Sandusky; five great-grandsons, two great-granddaughters; longtime companion, Betty Kane; twin brother, Victor, of Huron; brothers; Frank (Judy), of Sandusky, and Robert (Agnes), of Castalia; sisters, Betty Laws, Helen Wobser, and Patricia Neill, all of Sandusky; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Edith (Wilson), brothers, Clifford and Howard "Bunk"; sisters, Mary Baker and Shirley Podgurski; two sisters in infancy; and four nephews.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 13, 2014 until time of a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at the Ohio Veterans Home, Giffin Chapel, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Military services to follow, and a military tribute will be presented by the American Legion Post 83 Color Guard. Burial will be in the Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Vincent's name to the Ohio Veterans Home, the American Legion Post 83, 3615 S. Hayes Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870, or to one's favorite charity.
