Raymond I. Morris, 77, of Collins, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born August 6, 1937 in Beverly, Ohio to the late Harold and Lela (Phillis) Morris.
Ray was a 1955 graduate of Margaretta High School in Castalia, Ohio. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1955 and served until 1959. Ray was a railroad detective for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad in Bellevue, Ohio from 1966 until 1972, and worked for several Bellevue area businesses. He was an owner/operator truck driver for many years. Ray enjoyed oval track car racing, and hunting. He was a member of the Bellevue Lodge #273 F. & A.M., and the Valley of Toledo Scottish Rite Lodge.
Ray is survived by his daughters, Pam Morris of Bellevue, Ohio, and Nancy (Allen) Ross of Bellevue, Ohio, by his son, John Morris of Bellevue, Ohio, and by his step son, Steven Machock of Collins, Ohio. Ray is also survived by his brother, Harry (Sandy) Morris of Castalia, Ohio, 4 grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Weitzel) Morris in 2007, and by his step mother, Dorothy Morris.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Diane Carter, Pastor of St. Paul United Church Of Christ, Bellevue, Ohio will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Clyde, Ohio.
