Clyde Chumley, 88, of Bellevue passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at The Ohio Veteran's Home in Georgetown, Ohio.
He was born July 3, 1925 in Harrogate, TN the son of Van Weams and Dellar (Bussell) Chumley.
Clyde was a charter member of Providence Baptist Church, Bellevue; Life member of American Legion Post 46, Bellevue and the Masonic Lodge. He was an avid fisherman/hunter and maintained the family garden. Clyde was a POW & MIA from December 1944 - March 1945 serving in the Army during WWII.
Survivors include daughters, Ramona L. (Chuck) Pinyerd, Shepperdsville, KY and Theresa A. (Jeff) Miller, Marion, OH. Grandchildren, Sandra D. Tietje, Kenneth C. Pinyerd, Jacob Miller, Anita Monday, Rachel Michaels; great-grandchildren, Amber Fleming, Zachary Tietje, Huston "Cody" Pinyerd, Parker Pinyerd, Krystal Monday, Chelseigh Monday; great-great-grandchildren, Thomas Clyde Theriault. Brother, Haynes Chumley, Harrogate, TN and sister, Hassie Lay, VA Beach, VA.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. (Richardson) whom he married Feb. 20, 1949 in Chattanooga, TN; brothers, Lewis, Otis, Woodrow, Estel, Henley, Fred, John, George, and Harley Chumley; and sisters, Minnie Powell and Agnes Gordon.
Friends will be received Friday, November 21, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. at the Foos and Foos Funeral Service; 151 Yorkshire Pl., Bellevue, OH 44811. Burial will take place Monday, November 24, 2014 with full military honors at Chumley Cemetery, Cumberland Gap, TN.
