Ellen K. (Smetzer) Middleswarth, age 85, of Bellevue passed away on November 24, 2014 in Fremont, Ohio.
She was born on February 13, 1929 in Bellevue the daughter of Howard and Dorthea Smetzer.
She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1947. On October 16, 1948 she married Thomas Middleswarth, her high school sweetheart. Together they owned T & E Trailer Sales and Dairy Isle. Ellen worked for the Bellevue Recreation Department for many years and was active at Four County Young-at-Heart.
Ellen was a loved woman, who loved to help people, and to spend time with her family. She always had a love for camping and sitting around the campfire with friends and family. She also enjoyed doing genealogy and accounting bookwork.
She is survived by her children: Linda Wentler, Lynn Middleswarth, James Middleswarth, Judith Middleswarth, and Denise Garman; grandchildren: Andrea, Raymond, Benjamin, Geoffrey, Shane, Joshua, Matthew, Jennifer, Shauna, and Christa; and 13 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Thomas Middleswarth.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2- 8 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where a funeral service officiated by Rev. Juli Lejman-Guy will begin on Monday at 11 a.m.. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
