Jean Dorothy (Brownell) Holz, 85, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Commons of Providence.
Jean was born in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Reuben and Dorothy Brownell.
Jean graduated from Sandusky High School. She was employed at Ohio Bell as a telephone operator for over twenty years before becoming a homemaker. Jean was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed family vacations to North Carolina and going on several cruises. She loved dogs, babies, Ohio State football and spending time with family; especially her beloved grandchildren whom she was so very proud of.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Carol (Bob) Icsman of Akron, Ohio; son, Tom Holz of Sandusky; grandchildren, Karl, Marilyn and Justin Icsman; her sister, Shirley Good of Sandusky; brother, David (Cheryl) Brownell; special niece, Kathy Pisarsky; sister-in-law, Mary Forrest and other family members.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl George Holz in 2005.
Friends may call on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave, Sandusky, with Fr. Joseph Steinbauer officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
