Judith Anne (Dorsch) McPhillamy, 82, residing in Huron and formerly of Sandusky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Judy was born October 13, 1932 in Youngstown, OH to the late Edward Christian and Wynotta Elizabeth (Coulter) Dorsch.
She graduated from South High School in Youngstown and trained as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland. While studying there she met her future husband, Edward Albert McPhillamy, and they were married on September 15, 1953. After spending two years at Fort Benning, Georgia, they settled in Sandusky, where Judy was a homemaker and raised their family of five children. She later worked as a real estate agent with Strayer Realty.
Judy was a member of the Plum Brook Country Club women's golf league and the Sandusky Yacht Club. For many years she was an active volunteer at the Merry-Go-Round Museum and the Women's Civic Club. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.
Judy is survived by her children: Elizabeth Ann (John) Kurzava of Monterey, CA., Molly Jane (T. Scott) Perry of Decatur, GA., Bradford Craig McPhillamy of Huron, OH., and Brian Kent McPhillamy of Sandusky, OH. She was known as Granny to her grandchildren, Meghan Kathleen and Rachael Christine Hite both of Houston, TX., John Edward Kurzava of Los Angeles, CA., Grace Elizabeth Perry of Jackson, MS., and Lucinda Ann Kurzava of West Lafayette, IN. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Jean (John) McVey of Bonita Springs, FL. and a niece, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ed McPhillamy, August 20, 2001 and her daughter, Melissa Lynn Hite, June 10, 1998.
Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.

The family will greet friends and visitors at a celebration of Judy's life on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Lakefield Manor clubhouse, 4901 W. Waterberry Dr., Huron.
