Katherine F. (Porter) King, 90, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 9, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Katherine was born on November 11, 1924 in Bladen, OH to the late William and Edith (Angel) Porter.
Katherine was a member of Faith Memorial Assembly of God. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing and spending time with her family.
Katherine is survived by her daughter, Stella Rugg; sons, Dennis, John, Phillip (Glema) and Michael (Sue) King; 14 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; sisters; Helena Aldridge and Dorothy Barcus; brothers, William (Betty), Waldo (Carolyn) and James (Judy) Porter and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Katherine is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis B. King; daughter, Lois Emma Jean King; sister, Daisy Jeffers and Janice Arata; daughter-in-law, Linda King and son-in-law, Jerry Rugg.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Friends may also call on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 9:30am at Faith Memorial Assembly of God Church, 1320 E. Strub Rd., Sandusky until the time of funeral services at 10:30am with Pastor Ken Hiser presiding. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery,Castalia, OH.
