Kenneth "Duke" Likes, 76, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Duke was born on September 3, 1938 in Sandusky, OH to the late Ray and Cora (Newcomer) Likes.
He was a Veteran of the US Army stationed in France. He was employed as a lineman at Ohio Edison for over 30 years before retiring in 1996. Duke was a member of the American Legion Post 83. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.
Duke is survived by his wife, Francine (Augereau) Likes whom he married on March 3, 1958. He is also survived by his sons, Steven (Linda) Likes and Chris (Christal Tucker) Likes both of Sandusky, OH; daughter, Sylvia (Greg) Aldrich of Fairplay, SC; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Donald "Boob" Likes and Larry Likes both of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Duke is preceded in death by his daughter, Corrinne Likes and his four brothers, Earl, Ralph, Jack and Jim Likes.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11:00 am at Perkins Cemetery, 5420 Milan Rd., Sandusky. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory are assisting the family with arrangements.
