Dorothy Rose Baughn entered into eternal rest on December 21, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on May 8, 1917 to Council and Ethel (Vanderford) Rose, in Lynn, Alabama.
She married Austin “Ted” Baughn in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1973. They moved to Ohio in 1953, with Ted working at Ford Motor Company and Dorothy working as a cashier at A & P until it closed. She then worked at Cooks and NBC.
To their union was born Rebecca Tidwell, Gayle (Wollenslegel) Baughn and Henry Farrel Baughn.
She was a devout Christian and was a member of Bellevue Church of Christ. Dorothy was also a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge 40, holding various offices. She enjoyed garage sales and had a gift shop for many years at “The Wishing Well” at Fort Firelands.
She was a wonderful grandmother to four generations, including 45 great grandchildren and many more great- great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Henry Farrell Baughn in 2003, son in law Orville Tidwell, both of Bellevue, four brothers and four sisters, several nieces and dear friend Wanda Kauffman Isaac.
Surviving to cherish her memory are Rebecca Tidwell and Gayle Baughn. Grandchildren Karen (Brad) Hacker, Marta (Rich) Close, Dinah (Mick) Dwyer, Cynthia (Freddie) Damo, Kathy (Brian) Ireland, Marty Wollenslegel, Rodney (Kim) Wollenslegel, Lisa (Matt) Fritz, Randy Wollenslegel, Tim (Trish) Wollenslegel, Jon (Alesha) Wollenslegel, Sheila (Kevin) Timmons, Mike (Laurie) Baughn, Cheryl Foos, Angela (Lee) Sanchez, David Baughn, her many great-great grandchildren and her church family.
Friends will be received on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 1551 Yorkshire place, Bellevue from 11 a.m. until a funeral service begins at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Butternut Ridge Cemetery.
