Doris M. (Stein) Buckingham, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 25, 2014 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Doris was born on April 2, 1927 in North Fairfield, OH to the late Karl P. and Ruth (White) Stein.
Doris graduated from Williard High School in 1945. She retired from the former Providence Hospital in 1985 after 21 years of service. Doris was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, crocheting, knitting and spending time with family and friends.
Doris is survived by three sons, Ross Buckingham of Toledo, Michael Buckingham of Surprise, AZ and Scott Buckingham of Huron; three daughters, Sue Ellen Davison of Sandusky with whom she made her home, Patricia Evans of Huron and Rebecca Buckingham Johnson of Temperance, MI; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by husband, Halden T. Buckingham; her daughter in infancy, Anna Marie; sisters, Eloise Miller and Vera Myers; brothers, Robert, Henry and Leland Stein.
At her request, no visitation or services will be held. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
