Michael W. Walker, 52, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Tuesday evening, December 23, 2014 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Michael was born on May 31, 1962 in Sandusky, OH to Darlene (Hartley) Walker and the late Bil Walker.
He was owner and operator of the Dance 'N' Style Ballroom & Latin Dance Studio in the Sandusky Plaza. Michael was a member of The Chapel of Sandusky. In his spare time, he enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially football. He was the quarterback and captain for Pikesville High School football team in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a volunteer dog walker for the Erie County dog warden. During his 30 plus years of dancing, he was recipient of the Midwest Latin Champion Award amongst many other distinctions. Michael loved spending time with his family and friends, and thoroughly loved being around people. Always charismatic, he enjoyed motivating and supporting others to better themselves. He was known for his outgoing personality, strength of character and his huge heart.
Michael is survived by his wife, Laura (Fuhr) Walker, whom he married on August 8, 2013. He is also survived by his sons, Justin Morneau and Lance Walker; as well numerous other relatives. He also leaves behind his best friends and companions Sam and Gracie.
In addition to his father, Michael is preceded in death by his brother, John Walker.
Friends may call Monday, December 29, 2014 at 7:00 pm until the time of his memorial service at 7:30 pm at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Rd. Sandusky with the Pastor Jay Halley presiding. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
