Marilyn T. Pennington, 91, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in her home.
She was born December 27, 1922 in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Aloysius J. and Mary E. (May) (Windau) Camp, and spent her childhood in Monroeville, Ohio.
Marilyn graduated from Monroeville High School in 1941, from St. Vincent's School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio in 1944, and served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps during W.W. II. She spent the following 34 years in the Cleveland, Ohio area engaged in psychiatric, tuberculosis, and rehabilitation nursing, and retired to the Norwalk, Ohio area in 1980. Marilyn was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Firelands Area Art League, the St. Vincent School of Nursing Alumnae, and the Women in the Military.
She is survived by her son, Truzon J. Pennington of St. Augustine, Florida, by her grandchildren, Sean and Mary Beth of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Krista Pennington of Orlando, Florida. Marilyn is also survived by her brother, Fr. Alfred Camp of Madison, Mississippi, by her sisters, Sister Mary Magdalena SND, and Sister Ethel Mary SND, both of Toledo, Ohio, by her brother in law, Robert Graham of Monroeville, Ohio, by her sister in law, Kathy Camp of Monroeville, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice (Alexander) Aitken, by her brothers, Kenneth Camp, Harold Camp, and infant brother, Robert Camp, by her sisters, Margaret Phillips, Ruth Heyman, and Therese Graham, and by her sister in law, Therese Krock Camp.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
