Doris S. (Seidel) Woodruff, 85, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at The Meadows at Osborn Park after a lengthy illness.
Doris was born on May 17, 1929 in Harrisburg, PA to the late John and Ruth (Macey) Seidel.
She was a 1949 graduate of Lynchburg High School in Pennsylvania. Doris was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed Penn State football and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also very involved with St. Mary's Catholic Church as a parish council member, communion distributor, and other various church committees. Doris loved golfing and was especially proud of her hole-in-one on hole 2 at Thunderbird Hills North. However, her greatest joy of all was taking care of her family as a homemaker.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Patricia Burling of Sandusky; two sons, John D. Woodruff of Sandusky and Paul M. Woodruff of Bowling Green; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Paul H. Woodruff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 6th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church 429 Central Ave. Sandusky, with Father Philip Feltman presiding. Inurnment will follow at a later time in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
