Barbara J. (Drake) Matthews, 67, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly, New Year's Day, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born on June 20, 1947 in Meridian, MS.
Left to cherish her memories her devoted husband, Chester Matthews; daughter, Tess Drake, Los Angeles, CA; son, Darron Drake, Sandusky; step-daughter, Linda Faye (Sam) James, Columbus, OH; step-son, Roy (Gail) Matthews, Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Sierra Drake, Justin Richmond, Michael Drake, and Ashley Drake; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ora Walker; son, Michael Drake; daughter, Babylon (Babs) Richmond; and a brother, Peter Drake.
Friends may call on Friday, January 9, 2015, from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. in New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1920 Eddie Henry Way, Sandusky. Rev. Curtis Johnson, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
