Clifford Reynolds, 90, of Monroeville, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, January 3, 2015 in the Gaymont Nursing Home, Norwalk.
He was born October 1, 1924 in North Monroeville and had been a lifelong resident of the Monroeville area.
Cliff was a US Navy Veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific. He retired in 1978 from the Norfolk & Southern Railroad. Prior to this he had worked at the former Albright Farm Equipment and Midway Equipment, both of Monroeville. He also farmed in the Monroeville area. Since his retirement Cliff was a main stay at the Monroeville American Legion Post 547, serving in many capacities. He served as custodian, worked the fish fries, Color Guard, in charge of lending medical equipment to those in need and would do anything else needing done.
He was a member of the Monroeville American Legion Post 547 and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
He is survived by his wife, the former Alice C. Sprau, who he married in 1946; one sister, Bernadine Reynolds of Monroeville; one sister in law, Isabelle Reynolds of Norwalk; his American Legion Family and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Katherine (Sickinger) Reynolds and three brothers, George, Melvin and Henry Reynolds.
Friends may call on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 10:00 AM until time of American Legion Military Service at 11:00 AM at the Monroeville American Legion Post 547, 8-10 S. Main Street, Monroeville. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 547 Scholarship Fund.
