Clarence R. Hupp

Clarence R. Hupp, 96, of Summerville, West Virginia and formerly of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 in Summerfield.  

He was born March 3, 1918 in Ravenswood, West Virginia to the late George and Anna (Daily) Hupp.

Clarence was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in W.W. II and retired after 20 years of service.  He was a former employee of the B & O Railroad, Norwalk City Schools, Norwalk Public Library, the Toledo Blade, and Walker Funeral Home.  He was a member of Norwalk First United Methodist Church, Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Huron Lodge #37 Independent Order of Odd Fellows. 

Clarence is survived by his wife, Anna (McClung) Hupp of Summerville, West Virginia, by his children, Rev. Anna Wargo of Norwalk, Ohio, Bruce (Joyce) Hupp of Mansfield, Ohio, and Rick (Nam) Hupp of Tucson, Arizona.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rev. Andrew (Julie) Hupp, Steve (Patti) Hupp, Laura Wargo, Sarah Hupp, Ryan Hupp, and Christopher Hupp, and 8 great grandchildren. Clarence is also survived by his step children, Andrea (Lloyd) Dempsey, Mac (Bobby) McClung, and Rev. Mark (Mary Ann) McClung, and several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura (Helmick) Hupp in 2004, by his brothers, Arnold, Everet, and Donald, and by his sisters, Elsie, Gladis, and Grace.  Friends may call on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. in the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio.  Rev. Anna Wargo and Rev. Mark McClung will officiate.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
