Louis "Mike" Maschari, 71, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, January 11, 2015 in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Mike was born on April 19, 1943 in Sandusky to the late Louis and Marie (Burrows) Maschari.
He worked for the family Pepsi Co. business, then for Ford Motor Company for 31 years, retiring in 1994.
Mike loved boating and fishing. He also loved to cruising and traveling, in general. He was an excellent cook, and was known for his homemade Italian sausage and pizza. He loved entertaining big crowds in his garage-turned-kitchen. Always the jokester, he will be deeply missed by his family, with whom he loved to spend time.
Mike is survived by his wife, Darlene (Elgart) Maschari, whom he married on September 11, 1982; daughter, Kelley (Kirk) Wyatt, of Huron; son, Deno (Chris) Maschari, of Huron; grandchildren, Alex, Audrey, Dominic, and Amanda; great-grandson, Troy; sisters, Sheila York and Martha (Jim) Bertsch; father- and mother-in-law, Howard and Sandy Elgart; sister-in-law, Chris Elgart; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Len Elgart.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, and again on Friday from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. Pastor Joel Capizzi will officiate. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. All in attendance are welcome to join the family, immediately following the cemetery services, for a luncheon in the Toft Event Room.
