Brian E. Davie, 57, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, January 11, 2015 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center after a brief illness.
Brian was born on November 25, 1957 in Sandusky, OH to Richard V. and the late Alice (Fitz) Davie.
Brian was a 1976 graduate of St. Mary's High School, where he played basketball and shot the buzzer beater winning basket against Tiffin Calvert. He was a dedicated printer for over 32 years at Roth Printing and then at Park Press Direct for the past 7 years. Brian was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was an avid Cleveland and Ohio State sports fan. Brian loved the rock band Kiss, muscle cars and slap stick comedies but above all else he loved spending time with his family and grandkids. Brian will be remembered as a man dedicated and devoted to his life's work and his family.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Susan (Cottier) Davie, whom he married on October 20, 1979. He is also survived by his daughters, Nicole E. (Adam) Glay of Columbus and Jan E. (Brent Neuburger) Davie; grandchildren, Owen M. and Jonas E. Glay and Gracie Neuburger; father, Richard V. Davie; brothers, Dennis (Amy) Davie, Jeff (Mary Ann) Davie both of Sandusky and Mark (Mary) Davie of Huron; mother-in-law, Marlene Cottier of Sandusky; brother-in-laws, Rick (Trudy) Cottier of Toledo and Tim (Janice) Cottier of Sandusky and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.
In addition to his mother in 1995, Brian was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael K. in 2009 and Richard J. in 2013.
In Brian's memory the family asks that you to rock out to some Kiss, drink an ice cold Coors Light, ask a lot of questions and laugh at life.
The family appreciates the excellent care and quick actions of all those at the Ross Heart Hospital at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
