Mary Kathryn (Snowden) Strack, 94, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, January 13, 2015 at her residence.
Mary was born on August 15, 1920 in Leipsic, OH to the late Samuel and Nina (McKeen) Snowden.
Mary was a 1938 graduate from Margaretta High School. She was employed with the former Philco Company for many years. Mary was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Sandusky Yacht Club, the United Transportation Union Ladies Auxiliary and a honorary Kentucky Colonel. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching football, especially Ohio State and the Minnesota Vikings, she liked watching NASCAR-ThorSport racing, knitting hats for Hats for Love, and spending time with her family and friends. No one was a stranger to her.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Marijune Benko of Sandusky; grandchildren, Christine (Paul) Craft and Michael Benko both of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Strack, sister, Marjorie Drummond and brother, Robert Snowden.
Friends may call on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am in the funeral home with Rev. Douglas Winner presiding. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, OH.
