Donald T. "Tom" Ott, 56, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015.
He was born July 10, 1956 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Donald R. and Ruth N. (Timman) Ott and was a lifelong area resident.
Tom graduated from Norwalk High School in 1974. He was a union carpenter for many years and enjoyed golf, and woodworking. Tom played park and rec league softball, volleyball, and basketball. He especially enjoyed coaching his children's lefty grove and park and rec sports teams.
Tom is survived by his children, Patrick Ott of Norwalk, Ohio, Thomas Ott of Norwalk, Ohio and Courtney and Chris Rankin of Berlin Heights, Ohio, and by his grandchildren, Chelsey and Caitlin Rankin. He is also survived by his siblings, Doug and Jeanne Ott of Norwalk, Ohio, William and Pam Ott of Norwalk, Ohio, Cindy Ott Knoll of Toronto, Canada, and Dennis and Tracey Ott of Redford, Michigan, by his former wife, Teresa M. Hoyer of Norwalk, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Ott Cottrell, and by his grandparents, Lucas and Metta Timman, and Walter and Cora Ott. Memorial services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to Huron County M.M.R.D. Services, 130 Shady Lane, Norwalk, Ohio 44857, to the Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio, 2500 North Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio 43615, or to the donor's favorite charity.
