Joanne E. Moyer, age 65, of Castalia, died Friday morning, April 1, 2011, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
She was born February 12, 1946, in Sandusky, OH, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1964. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky, and retired from Topps after 33 years. Joanne loved everything about horses; she enjoyed raising, riding, and showing them. She also enjoyed boating and going snow skiing. During the winter, Joanne would spend her time down in "The Villages", Fl.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years Larry Moyer; step daughter Andrea Garza, Huron; step son Kevin Moyer, Berlin Heights; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister Judy (Bob) Hippler, Castalia; two brothers Jerry (Betty) Weyer, Huron, and Jack (Carol) Weyer, Wooster; and many nieces and nephews.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents Cletis and Ruth (Mesenburg) Weyer; and brother James Weyer.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday April 3rd. at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where prayer services will be at 1:15 PM Monday followed by a Mass at St. Marys Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Jason Kahle will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
