William A. Hite, 87, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 in Norwalk Memorial Home.

He was born June 13, 1927 in Milan, Ohio to the late Lloyd W. and Miriam E. (Harper) Hite and was a lifelong area resident.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in W.W. II. He retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad, Bellevue, Ohio, in 1986. Bill was a member of Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, dancing, yard work, and working on lawnmowers. Bill and his late wife, Eva, enjoyed wintering in Winter Haven, Florida for many years.

He is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Dan and Pam Hite of Milan, Ohio, Mike and Nancy Hite of Monroeville, Ohio, and Scott and Amy Hite of Sandusky, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Amy (Travis) Dalton, Travis (Melissa) Hite, Hogan (Haley) Hite, Dustin Hite, Trever Hite, and Anyston Hite, and by his great grandchildren, Kennedy, Blake, and Reed. Bill is also survived by his brothers, Paul Hite of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Bobby Hite of Attica, Ohio, by his sisters, Helen Herold of New London, Ohio, and Dorothy Hauphricht of Ashland, Ohio, several nieces, nephews, and many friends at the Norwalk Memorial Home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva M. (Wolfe) Hite in 1997.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Chaplain David Detwiller of Stein Hospice Service will officiate. Interment will be in Olena Cemetery.
