Burdette L. Eastman, age 92, of Norwalk, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Norwalk Memorial Home.
He was born July 30, 1922 in Havanna, OH to the late Gary and Ida Belle (Boose) Eastman.
He was a graduate of Monroeville High School and served in the US Army during World War II. He was a truck driver for many years for A.J. Baltes and Chapin & Chapin. At age 50, he went to Terra Tec and earned his police lieutenant credentials and sharp shooter certification. He retired from the Huron County Highway Department.
He is survived by his daughters, Marlene (Steve) Griggs of Milan and Susan (Norman) Clouse of Wakeman; sons, Gary (Sharon) Eastman of Norwalk, John (Karen) Eastman of Willard, Richard Eastman of Willard and Jeff (Brenda) Eastman of Willard; his twin brother, Burton Eastman; sister, Carol Camaron; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Vivian P. (Travis) Eastman; grandchildren, Christopher Eastman and Michelle Clouse; siblings, Mary Sulser, Clarabelle Kelly, Marjorie Clark, Fern Barnes, Wayne Eastman, Glen Eastman, Gladys Smith, Alice Schaechterle, Bernis Wheeler.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Private interment will be at a later date.
