Victor C. Trautman, 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 13, 2015, in Parkvue Healthcare Center.
He was born on May 12, 1924 in Sandusky, and was a lifelong resident of the city. Victor attended Holy Angels Catholic Schools and Margaretta Schools.
He was employed by the City of Sandusky Water Distribution as a heavy equipment operator for 30 years retiring in 1985.
Victor was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed helping at the Welcome table dinners. He never missed an opportunity to be with his family, and in his spare time enjoyed working in his yard, and fixing the bodies of old cars.
He is survived by daughters, Judi (Michael) Bressler, Sandusky, and Debbie (Richard) Carroll, Dayton, OH; grandchildren, David (Beth) Bressler, Chicago, IL, Steven Bressler, Dublin, OH, and Michelle (Jesse) Bowman, Columbus, OH; great-grandchild, Brynn Bressler; brothers, Robert (Agnes) Trautman and Frank (Judy) Trautman, both of Sandusky; sisters, Betty (Trautman) Laws, Helen (Trautman) Wobser, and Patricia (Trautman) Neil, all of Sandusky; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2009, Jean Catherine (Thom) Trautman, to whom he married in 1945; parents, Howard and Verna (Francis) Trautman; brothers, Clifford, Howard Jr., and his twin brother, Vincent; sisters, Mary (Trautman) Baker, and Shirley (Trautman) Podgurski.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Parkvue Heathcare Center, especially his aide, Kathy, for their care and compassion.
Friends may call on Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 4-6 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. On Monday friends may also call from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills St., Sandusky. Rev. Timothy Nilsen will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Victor's name may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 5700 Brecksville Rd., Independence, OH 44131.
