Teresa L. "Terry" Rospert, 68, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her home.
She was born September 12, 1946 in Norwalk, Ohio the daughter of the late Clyde and Rosemary (Volk) Bellamy.
Terry graduated from Norwalk St. Paul High School in 1964. She then studied at the Providence School of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1967. With the exception of one year in geriatrics, Terry worked in the surgery department during her 44 years in the medical field. She was a circulating nurse at Providence Hospital, and after receiving her Physician's Assistant degree from Cuyahoga Community College in 1991. Terry moved to first assist in surgery for Sandusky Surgeon - Drs. Hoffman, Lenhart and Schuchardt - for the next 20 years. She finished her career as a first assist at Firelands Community Hospital.
Terry was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue, where she served as Eucharistic Minister and also a member of the St. Jude Study Club. Professionally she was a member of the Ohio Board of Nursing, the State Medical Board of Ohio, the American Academy of Physicians Assistants, the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses.
Terry was a caring nurse and avid gardener, taking great pride in transforming her fruits and vegetables into family meals. Her kitchen was command central for birthdays, holidays and celebrations. Terry doted over her many nieces and nephews, always ready to play a game or read a story. It was Terry who attracted many phone calls and visits for advice on subjects ranging from cures for the common cold ... recipes ... spiritual guidance. She will be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Rospert, whom she married April 12, 1969 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Norwalk. One son, Aaron J. Rospert of Bellevue; Three brothers, Wayne M. (Debbie) Bellamy of Wilmington, DE, Mark A. (Pam) Bellamy of Port Clinton, OH, and Thomas C. (Deb) Bellamy of Greenville, SC; and one sister, MaryBeth (Dave) Brookover of Norwalk, OH.
In addition to her parents, Terry is preceded in death by grandparents, Raymond and Rheorma Bellamy, Matthias and Elizabeth "Betty" Volk and step-grandfather, Ed Mahn.
Friends will be received on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where the Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. A funeral Mass officiated by Rev. Johnathon Wight will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
