Joseph Kobylski, Jr., 71, of Port Clinton, passed away Tuesday evening, February 3, 2015 in his home.
He was born on August 12, 1943 in Oberlin, Ohio to the late Joseph, Sr. and Olive Mae (Ames) Kobylski. Joseph was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during Vietnam.
A graduate of Lorain County Community College, Joseph had many labors of love, including farming, carpentry, woodworking, and furniture building. He was well known for the fine furniture he built. He also retired from U.S. Steel in Lorain after 31 years of service.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton, the Port Clinton Moose Lodge, the American Legion Post 83 in Sandusky, and Vacationland Sam RV Club.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marjorie (Kovalck) Kobylski; daughter, Louise Weber, of Livonia, Mich.; sons, Michael P., Scot Allen, and Joseph, III, all of Elyria; step-daughter, Cynthia Kendrick, of Akron; step-son, Steve Ashley, of Port Clinton; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Joanne Pean, of Sullivan, Mary Jane Spice, of Medina, and Janet Czuprun, of Litchfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Browand.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A.M. on Friday, February 6 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Father Joseph Steinbauer will preside. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
