Joseph J. Corso, 80, Sandusky, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, in the Ohio Veterans Home.
He was born on June 20, 1930 in Sandusky, and was a 1948 graduate of Sandusky High School. Joe received his degree in accounting from Miami University, Oxford, OH, in 1955. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Joe was employed as a computer programming advisor for Rockwell Aviation in Los Angeles, CA for 22 years, retiring in 1985. Joe loved to read, enjoyed sports, jazz, watching films, fine dining, and was a wine connoisseur. He was the drummer in the Blue Notes jazz band.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Corso, Sandusky; brother-in-law, Carl Gruber, Pompano Beach, FL; nephews, Ken (Kathy) Corso, Milan, and Paul (Ady) Corso, Paso Robles, FL; nieces, Janet (Jerry) Scheider, Cedar Park, TX, Gail Brock, TN, and Judy (Bob) Guseman, Sandusky; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Ida (Caldrone) Corso; sister, Margaret Gruber; brothers, August "Stiny" Corso and Henry Corso, and nephew, Larry Corso.
There will be no visitation. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in the Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery.
