Clarice A. Stewart, 78, of Ashland died Friday, February 13, 2015 in the Hospice House of Ashland, Ashland following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 24, 1936 in Norwalk and was a 1955 graduate of Norwalk High School.
Clarice retired from the Ashland City School System. Prior to this she had worked at the Sandusky Eagles, Hamilton Beach and Faulhaber's. She was a member of the Ashland Baptist Temple, Garfield Chapter 324, Order of Eastern Star of West Salem, The El Rey Caldron, Chapter 105 of Oberlin, the VFW Auxiliary of Norwalk, the Monroeville American Legion Auxiliary, Sandusky Eagles Auxiliary and the Polk Amvet's Auxiliary. Her hobbies included sewing, crafts, bowling and golf. Clarice loved being with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Forrest Lee "Bud" Stewart, Sr.; one son, Forrest Lee (Brenda) Stewart, Jr. of Norwalk; one daughter, Valerie (Rodger Oney) Wright of Greenwich; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren, two sisters, Marge (Dave) Knoll of Norwalk and Janet (Bob) Crofoot of White Cloud, Michigan; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Beatrice (Miller) Grose; two granddaughters, one great grandson, one great great grandson, four brothers and one sister.
Friends may call Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 2-5:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville where Eastern Star and Caldron Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Ashland County Memorial Park, 1058 US Rt. 250 N., Ashland, Ohio. Pastor Troy Sage will officiate.
