Melba Cushman, 90, of Bellevue passed away Saturday February 21, 2015 at The Willows at Bellevue. She was born June 27, 1924 in Mitchell, Indiana the daughter William "Willy" and Chloe (Minoy) Cochran.
Melba was employed and retired from the H.J. Heinz Company, Fremont. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, reading and being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Jim Bowler and Jerry Bowler of Bellevue; One daughter, Sheila Laub of Republic; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; Sisters, Jenny Champ, Ruth Lloyd, and Dude Ogdan, all of Redkey, IN.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Cushman; daughter, Betty Bowler; brothers, Rolin Cochran, Vernon Cochran, Beaster Cochran, and Earl Cochran; and sisters, Etta Roberts, Vera Dorn, Lela Hatzell, Lois Besser, and Louise Reff.
Friends will be received on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from Noon until a memorial service begins at 1 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
At Melba's request, she ask that no flowers be sent.
