Theordor "Ted" David White, Sr, 77, of Sandusky passed away Tues, Feb 24th 2015 at home.
He was born April 2, 1937 in Sandusky to the late Milton "Tink" White and Helen (Zech) White-Cozzie.
Ted was a lifetime resident of Sandusky and certified mechanic who founded The Front
End Shop in 1983. He and his wife, Dorothy, ran the business for over 15 years and he retired in 1999.
Ted enjoyed archery in his early years for which he received numerous awards. He also enjoyed stock car racing and was a Sprint Car driver at the Sandusky and Fremont Speedways. He was a member of the Sandusky Power Squadron and the North Coast Snowmobile Club. He was an avid boater who loved the lake and islands. His passions were fishing, golf, and snowmobiling with his family and friends. Ted was an honest and hardworking man. His greatest joys were spending time with his loving wife of 57 years, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ted is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Spoa) White; sons, Theordor White, Jr of Huron, Dennis (Denise) White of Sandusky; daughter; Deborah (White) Ahner of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; John (Debbie) White, Thomas (Peggy Lucas) of Sandusky, Steve White of Pennsylvania; brother in law, John Spoa, Sr, of Sandusky; numerous dear nieces and nephews and his loving companion "Pepper."
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his father and mother in law, Nick and Rita Spoa; stepmother; Irene (Christiansen) White; brothers, Milton, James, Jerold and Richard White; and great-granddaughter; Arianna Wisenbarger.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 26, 2015 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Friends may also call Friday, February 27, 2015 in the funeral home from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral services at 11:30 am with Chaplain Mel Sayler officiating.
