Bonnie Rippon, 71, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 19, 2015 in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born May 22, 1943 to the late Harry J. and Virginia L. (Shane) McRae and came to this area in 1960 from Elyria, Ohio.
Bonnie attended Elyria High School thru her Junior year, and graduated in 1961 from Norwalk High School. She was the former owner of Uptown Flower Shop, Norwalk, Ohio, and was a cake decorator for many years. Bonnie was an avid reader, and was a member of Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Thomas O. Rippon of Norwalk, Ohio, by her children, Valerie (Eric) Jones of Norwalk, Ohio, and Wesley (Lori) Ewing of Norwalk, Ohio, by her step children, Tami (Doug) Ringholz of Norwalk, Ohio and Thomas G. (Karen) Rippon of Norwalk, Ohio, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Bonnie is also survived by her sisters, Barbara (Gerald) Manns of Norwalk, Ohio, Susan Sheidler of Norwalk, Ohio, and Georgianna (Gary) Scherz of Norwalk, Ohio, and by her brother, Robert (Cecilia) McRae of Lexington, North Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Erica Rippon, and by her brother in law, Tom Sheidler.
There will be a celebration of Bonnie's life on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion, 1544 U.S. Rt. 20, Norwalk, Ohio, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
