William Louis Lyons, 81, of Sandusky, died Tuesday evening, March 3, 2015, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born on February 9, 1934 in Huron, OH, graduated from Huron High School, and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He retired from Barr Rubber, Inc. and the Perkins School System.
Bill attended Faith Memorial Church, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2875, Huron, a member of the Huron Tigers first 11 man football team in 1948, loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his children, Marsha Lyons, Eugene Lyons, and Renee Lyons, all of Sandusky, William J. Lyons of Florida, and Roxanne (Lyons) Hardt of Amherst, OH; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Lyons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth V. and Ruth (Ritzenthaler) Lyons; a brother Kenneth; and a sister, Judy in infancy.
Friends may call on Friday, March 6, 2015, from 5-7 P.M. and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Ken Hiser will officiate. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Huron.
